Mijak Kiru

Story #1- we were at one of our friends houses & I was playing w/ her little barely 2 year old nephew & he discovered the freckle on my hand and was really try to clean it off because he thought my hand was dirty. at one point he left & I thought he gave up but then a couple minutes later he comes back with a huge towel completely wet dragging it across the floor so he could wash my freckle off my hand. super cute little guy (he is the one in the video at the bottom) I LOVE him !!

Story #2- we were visiting one of our friends and I walked past a dog that looked very sad and abused & I was like dang I really wish I had some food to get him to come to me because he was scared. lucky enough the elders car was there because they were visiting the person on the other side of the street & surely the elders have got to have food in their car. so we walk up there and lucky enough the car was unlocked!! & low and behold there was a giant steak on a plate just waiting for us. so we definitely fed the dog some of that, thank you elders!!

Nothing too crazy happened this week, the people are still the GREATEST people & I cannot wait to be able to get to know them & their culture more !! I am so grateful to be called to this place at this time w these people. Heavenly Father knows exactly where I need to be even if the work is really really hard sometimes. some weeks are harder than others & this week was kind of a harder one but I am always so blessed to be out here & to be serving Heavenly Father's children. I am so lucky.

First of all, conference was the BEST!! & we have now joined everybody else in basically full lockdown, our mission President called us yesterday morning and said we now have to stay in our apartment except we can leave twice a day for a few minutes of exercise. As far as being in our apartment we have found great ways to entertain ourselves. The Elders "gave" us a mini pool table which has been quite enjoyable. We also moved our table right in front of the window so we can watch outside as we eat and it's basically like watching the discovery channel with all the wildlife out here. One night there was 4 squirrels, 2 birds, and a rabbit and I honestly REALLY enjoyed it!! It has honestly been an amazing week, general conference lived up to every ridiculously high expectation I had. The Blessed Struggle

Definitely many changes this week!! I'm still here in good old beautiful woodhaven but Sister West has left sadly:( howeverrrrrr I got a new companion, Hermana Patterson!! She's from Louisiana and she's been serving in Ecuador for the past couple months but has been reassigned here due to all virus stuff and whatnot. She's a way good cook so she's been eating good out here. This week was full of lots of change of course. Change and uncertainty can be real uncomfy but thank goodness for the foundation our Savior can provide for us. Moroni 7:3 says, "the peaceable followers of Christ, and that have obtained a sufficient hope by which ye can enter into the rest of the Lord, from this time henceforth until ye shall rest with him in heaven." This verse is amazing!! Times of uncertainty and times of trial will always come but rest in and with the Lord is always available to us. Today marks 5 months !! it's been such a crazy week wow!! we dropped off Sister Gordon on Tuesday and she headed out to Shelbyville, we miss her lots. I got to pick up my new companion on Friday!! her name is Sister Brunsdale and she is from Utah and she has been out about 10 months. I love her!! & we are super excited for this transfer. she's one of those people that you just wonder why are they so nice? it's been kinda crazy to think that I have spent my whole mission in this area and at the end of this transfer I will have spent a third of my mission here.... also sad news- President and Sister Hughes are going home tomorrow:( but President and Sister Alder get here tonight & we are SUPER excited for them !! ALSO Byron got baptized on Wednesday WOOHOO, greatest day of my life. so many good things.
