Invested In The Journey

Well, this week lasted about a minute, time is flying!! Pretty sure I've had a sunburn all week. Our 60/40 has more so turned unto a 100 so basically we are doing everything yay!! we got a new ride somehow, the plus side is she's got no tiwi shhhhh. stevie is a beauty.

We had a lesson with the greatest guy this week! I love him. We read 3 Nephi 17 with him and talked about the Savior's ministry and it was so powerful. He couldn't stop smiling and at one point he put his hands over his face and all he could say was God is so good! I can't describe in words the spirit that was present and the joy that was felt. another blessing!! Right after we finished reading with him about 5 little kids came over and asked if they could pray with us. Holding hands with those little kids and being in prayer with them was a VERY special moment for me. Doctrine and Covenants 6:32 says, "where two or three are gathered together in my name, as touching one thing, behold, there will I be in the midst of them—even so am I in the midst of you." This promise is powerful and so SO real. I am beyond grateful for moments like those.

We had zone conference this week finally!! It was soooooo good to be back together and unified. It was President and Sister Hughes last zone conference :(so we got to hear a lot from them thank goodness. I admire and LOVE their relationship and the support and love they give one another. President Hughes says when he is out in the world and he sees something crazy or worldly he will just look at his lockscreen where he has a picture of Sister Hughes and then he remembers his purpose. He will hold onto the fact that he can't wait to be home to see her. One of my favorite things to remember is that God is not about what we have done but all about what we become. As we constantly remember that our purpose in this life is to prepare to meet God we will automatically be more invested in our journey to our heavenly home. Our daily actions will reflect our inward desires as we put all of our trust in our Savior. we are soooooo lucky to be here on this beautiful earth!!

Richard G. Scott said, "trials are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow." If and when we face trials we can know God knows our capacity to grow tremendously exceeds our capacity to simply make it through. He knows what you can become and He KNOWS you have an amazing ability to press forward through Him!!

Mini miracle!! we had a dinner appointment this week and on the way we were just all talking about how we have been craving a nice good ole barbeque. Sooooo as one would do we said a prayer. Right when we got there they said just head out to the backyard we are having a barbeque. GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS!! what a tender mercy honestly, I definitely know God wants us to be happy and that made my day!
