story- this week we were visiting one of our friends who is the absolute sweetest little lady!! she has the most beautiful testimony of the temple. as she sat there & described the feelings she felt in the temple the spirit was so strong. the temple truly is such a special place to me. she was telling us that when she went to the temple for the first time about a year ago she just kept saying I want to sleep here & I want to live here & I thought that was so cute!! the temple is such a powerfully special place.

thought- I was studying this week in D&C 21 and I love verses 7-9 & part of it says, "For thus saith the Lord God: Him have I inspired to move the cause of Zion in mighty power for good, and his diligence I know, and his prayers I have heard....For, behold, I will bless all those who labor in my vineyard with a mighty blessing." I love these verses so much especially at this time when I am so lucky to be apart of the Lord's vineyard in this capacity. I love when it says his diligence I know, and his prayers I have heard & Heavenly Father truly does hear every. single. one. of. our. prayers. he loves us more than we can comprehend & he knows our hearts. he knows our efforts & our feelings perfectly & he sees our efforts everyday and he loves those efforts. sometimes this life is very very hard. sometimes it is hard to be happy & sometimes it is hard to give effort. but the Savior knows perfectly how we feel & he is right there with us, walking w/ us & cheering us on. I can't even express how grateful I am for a Savior who continually knows how I feel & I am more than blessed to be here & to be a missionary right now w/ these exact people.

"The Lord Loves Effort!"

First of all, conference was the BEST!! & we have now joined everybody else in basically full lockdown, our mission President called us yesterday morning and said we now have to stay in our apartment except we can leave twice a day for a few minutes of exercise. As far as being in our apartment we have found great ways to entertain ourselves. The Elders "gave" us a mini pool table which has been quite enjoyable. We also moved our table right in front of the window so we can watch outside as we eat and it's basically like watching the discovery channel with all the wildlife out here. One night there was 4 squirrels, 2 birds, and a rabbit and I honestly REALLY enjoyed it!! It has honestly been an amazing week, general conference lived up to every ridiculously high expectation I had. The Blessed Struggle

Definitely many changes this week!! I'm still here in good old beautiful woodhaven but Sister West has left sadly:( howeverrrrrr I got a new companion, Hermana Patterson!! She's from Louisiana and she's been serving in Ecuador for the past couple months but has been reassigned here due to all virus stuff and whatnot. She's a way good cook so she's been eating good out here. This week was full of lots of change of course. Change and uncertainty can be real uncomfy but thank goodness for the foundation our Savior can provide for us. Moroni 7:3 says, "the peaceable followers of Christ, and that have obtained a sufficient hope by which ye can enter into the rest of the Lord, from this time henceforth until ye shall rest with him in heaven." This verse is amazing!! Times of uncertainty and times of trial will always come but rest in and with the Lord is always available to us. Today marks 5 months !! it's been such a crazy week wow!! we dropped off Sister Gordon on Tuesday and she headed out to Shelbyville, we miss her lots. I got to pick up my new companion on Friday!! her name is Sister Brunsdale and she is from Utah and she has been out about 10 months. I love her!! & we are super excited for this transfer. she's one of those people that you just wonder why are they so nice? it's been kinda crazy to think that I have spent my whole mission in this area and at the end of this transfer I will have spent a third of my mission here.... also sad news- President and Sister Hughes are going home tomorrow:( but President and Sister Alder get here tonight & we are SUPER excited for them !! ALSO Byron got baptized on Wednesday WOOHOO, greatest day of my life. so many good things.
