unfortunate turn of events- so sister hassler & I wanted to feel like regular missionaries without a car so we decided one day this week that we were just going to walk all day. so we headed out for the day and got about 4 miles away from home & it started raining and then storming, lighting, thunder, & the whole 9 yards. i'm no weather man but basically a water blizzard. the elders had the car that day so we got a call from them a little into the storm as we are walking on the road & they said please please please tell us you are home and not in this storm right now..... *loud lighting crash* elder fewkes, "you've got to be kidding me." so needless to say we started walking home at this point and along our trek home a big car drove past us on the sidewalk hitting a huge what you would think is a lake which completely drenched us, at this point leaving no dry spots. it progressively got colder and colder and more stormy and rainy & then hour and a half down the road which included lots of sidewalk singing & contemplating why we made such a dumb decision, we made it home.

the sweetest little marshallese lady had us over for dinner this week !! she has a disease that makes it so she can't walk but she spent all day making dinner for us. when we got there she was so happy & so excited, she is literally the sweetest most selfless lady ever. they dont have much but when we were leaving she said please take the food, we will find something else to eat because I made this for you all. and it just constantly surprises me how selfless the marshallese people are. they teach me lessons of service and love every single day. I have been so blessed to be able to serve with and around them and I have learned so much from them. Heavenly Father knows perfectly the loving examples that I need in my life.
